Initiative: MEL Course Unina (www.corsomelunina.it)
Objectives: The MEL Course Unina aims to improve the study skills necessary for university learning and to enhance academic performance. The course offers the opportunity to develop soft skills essential for both a successful academic experience and future work experience. The transversal skills cultivated are: emotional intelligence; effective communication, listening skills, and interpersonal abilities; adaptability, flexibility, and versatility; problem-solving skills; creativity.
Participation: Students in the Second and Third Year of the Bachelor's degree and Master's degree students enrolled in the Management Engineering program. The number of participants for each course is limited to 80 students. Selection is based on the time of enrollment; once the expected number is reached, it will no longer be possible to register for the course. Format: The course includes frontal lectures that introduce participants to the various aspects of learning and the skills to be enhanced to make it effective; group meetings for experiential learning (this will be made possible through the formation of work groups with a maximum of 10 participants); and individual and group work to be carried out at home through weekly assignments related to the topics covered in the lectures. The introduction of Mindfulness meditative practice is planned, which aims to increase self-regulation capabilities in attention, emotions, and metacognition. Furthermore, the groups will be facilitated with a coaching approach aimed at promoting self-regulation in studying, oriented towards academic goals.
Expected Commitment: The course lasts three months and includes weekly attendance for a total of 12 meetings of 1.5 hours + two group meetings of 1.5 hours each + individual and group work done at home. The total hours expected are 24: 18 hours of lectures + 3 hours of group meetings + 3 hours of work dedicated to homework.
Course Delivery Method: The lectures and group meetings are delivered in blended mode (online and in-person) according to a calendar proposed at the start of the course. Lectures are scheduled for evening hours (7:00 PM - 8:30 PM) when held online and, if in-person, at a daytime hour to be determined. Group meetings will take place at a time to be defined in agreement with the group participants and the professor.

CFU: 3 CFU; after completing the course (attending not less than 80% of the activities), it is possible to request the release of a certificate from the course professor, which is necessary for the accreditation of the 3 CFU.
